Listen to Namale, InterContinental Fiji, Como Laucala win big at Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2023

The inaugural edition of Travel + Leisure’s Luxury Awards Asia Pacific was held in Bangkok, Thailand recently and we have the winners of the South Pacific region! What’s more exciting, is that the list of winners and nominees include all our resort and hotel partners – and we couldn’t be happier!

Starting off, in the category of ‘Most Outrageous Villas’, St. Regis Bora Bora won – no surprise there. It’s ultra-luxurious overwater villas are as decadent as Bora Bora is beautiful. But because it’s South Pacific, the category was hotly contested by the equally beautiful Likuliku Lagoon Resort and Fiji Marriott Momi Bay. Then, the category of Best House Reefs had illustrious participants like the Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort, Paradise Taveuni and the Matangi Private Island Resort – and the winner was the JMC! This legendary resort is a stalwart in eco-conservation and we cannot get enough of it!

We were absolutely pleased to bits to know our partner, the Namale Resort & Spa, scooped the top honours in two categories! Namale won T+L’s top honours for South Pacific’s Best Resort Pool as well as Best Resort General Managers – many congratulations to Nowdla & Bill Keefe at the Namale!

Then, for the category for Best Resort Spas, InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa faced off against the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, the Brando – Tetiaroa Island in French Polynesia and others. The verdict: Spa InterContinental won the first-ever Best Resort Spa wreath for Travel + Leisure’s Luxury Awards Asia Pacific! It’s seriously so very good – check out our blogs on the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa. Castaway Island Resort, Fiji won the laurels in the Best Resorts for Families category. Castaway needs a bigger hat for all its feathers, and this award is a pretty feather, indeed!

The Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort in Savusavu has long been a benchmark in sustainable 5-star luxury.

And finally, the participants for the most anticipated category for Best Resorts were the Como Laucala Island in Fiji, The Brando Tetiaroa in Tahiti & Her Islands, Jean-Michel Costeau Resort, the Four Seasons Bora Bora, Six Senses Fiji, the St. Regis Bora Bora, the Namale Resort & Spa, the Havannah in Port Vila, Vanuatu and the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa. Let’s be perfectly clear – all these resorts are five-star stays and have delivered innumerable ‘epic holidays’; all of them have won several awards too. For the inaugural edition of the Travel + Leisure’s Luxury Awards Asia Pacific, the winner has been the Como Laucala Island.
