The Plantation Island Resort in Fiji has announced an exciting new development to enhance its beach experience for its guests. The resort will be relocating sand to create a wider beach area, making it more accessible and comfortable for guests to relax or enjoy the variety of water sports available. The work will be conducted during low tide and will concentrate on one section of the beach at a time. The upgrade project is expected to be completed by the end of May, 2023.
Alex Wilson, Plantation Island Resort’s General Manager, said, “We are committed to providing our guests with the best possible experience during their stay at Plantation Island Resort. This sand relocation project is just one of the many initiatives we are undertaking to improve our facilities and services.”
The resort assures guests that the work will not interfere with their enjoyment of the beach and will do all possible to minimise impact to the guests. During this time, guests may notice some activity on the beach during low tide periods and only within the hours of 8 am-5 pm.
Plantation Island Resort is a popular destination for families, couples, and solo travellers, with a variety of accommodations to suit everyone’s needs. The resort has 165 guest rooms, including hotel rooms, bures, and villas. Each accommodation option is designed to provide guests with optimum comfort and convenience, featuring modern amenities such as air conditioning, mini-fridges, tea and coffee-making facilities, and more.
In addition to the sand relocation project, Plantation Island Resort has several other exciting developments underway. The new retail precinct is set to open in the first week of June, offering guests a range of shopping options. The Snack hut is currently closed and undergoing transformation into the new Italian woodfire pizzeria Baravi with an expected completion date of July.
Another recent development is the installation of phone and internet cables throughout the resort. Guests can currently access complimentary low-speed WiFi in the restaurants, bars, and public areas, but will need to purchase a Prepay SIM card to access WiFi in their rooms. The resort is continuing to work towards increasing WiFi access throughout the entire property.
It’s impressive to note that this is just one of the numerous upgrades that the 54-year-old resort has envisioned and implemented to keep providing great Fiji holidays to international travellers.
Located in the Mamanuca Islands of Fiji, the Plantation Island Resort is easily accessible by ferry or seaplane from the main island of Viti Levu.
