The Nanuku Resort Fiji has unveiled a comprehensive redesign of its luxe villas, interiors and facilities as a part of the resort’s 10th anniversary celebrations.
Spearheaded by California-based firm Parisa O’Connell Studio (POC), the $12 million redesign aimed to highlight Fijian architectural influences, materials and craftsmanship! “Our vision was to create spaces that would feel both timeless and fresh,” said Parisa O’Connell, Principal Designer.
The resort has restricted itself to just 37 one to six-bedroom luxury suites, residences and villas set in a 500-acre plantation estate. The redesign’s key elements include carved wood pieces and a refreshed colour palette of rich island tones. Then, the Nanuku Fiji renovation has also elevated the resort’s public spaces, with public spaces like the clubhouse, lounge, bar and pool all receiving a glow-up.
The refurbished Kanavata Lounge features bar seats under a bar-spanning organic seashell fixture. The restaurant, of the same name, boasts of new, artisanal wooden tables with woven seating, and textured raffia lighting.
The Nanuku Fiji has opened a new, swanky adults-only dining area serving lunch and dinner called the Dancing Turtle.
Recreational options have been expanded with a new pool table, chess set, and ping pong table. The infinity pool now has ocean-facing chaise lounges, while the Nuku Bar has a new setting for dining and live music, set with the ocean views.
“Now that the project is complete, we’re delighted to see how the balanced design maintains the authentic Fijian essence that makes Nanuku special,” O’Connell said. The Fijian resort has further plans lined up this year, like additional special events and offerings to commemorate its tenth anniversary.
