Fiji Airways Clinches APEX 2023 Awards for Best Seat Comfort & Inflight Entertainment

Fiji Airways rounds up this year’s airline award season with a remarkable achievement, securing two top honours at the APEX Passenger Choice Awards for 2024. The national carrier of Fiji has been recognized with the prestigious titles of ‘Best Entertainment in the South Pacific’ and ‘Best Seat Comfort in the South Pacific’, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s pursuit of excellence.

For the first time, Fiji Airways’ inflight entertainment offerings have received acclaim, showcasing their commitment to enhancing passenger experiences. Additionally, the airline celebrates its second consecutive victory in the Best Seat Comfort category. Andre Viljoen, Managing Director and CEO of Fiji Airways, shares his enthusiasm, “We are immensely proud to receive these prestigious awards, which are a testament to the tireless efforts made by our team to innovate our offerings.”

Recent enhancements to Fiji Airways’ inflight entertainment include the addition of award-winning blockbusters from Disney and HBO, expanding its content library to over 840 hours. This vast selection positions the airline as a leader in providing a comprehensive and immersive entertainment experience in the South Pacific.

Fiji Airways has also integrated wellness content into its inflight offerings, featuring meditation and breath work sessions to ensure passengers arrive feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Viljoen further announced upcoming advancements, “Even as we receive news of these wins, I am delighted to announce that we will be launching a content streaming solution for flights on our Boeing 737-NG and ATR aircraft. Guests will be able to stream our entire inflight entertainment catalogue to their personal devices starting December this year. Additionally, our Business Class guests will receive a new generation iPad Pro with the full content suite for their use during the flight, starting November.”

Enhancing connectivity, Fiji Airways offers complimentary full-flight WiFi in Business Class, 15 minutes of complimentary text WiFi in Economy Class, and attractive WiFi purchase plans on their A350 and MAX fleet. These offerings ensure that passengers flying between the United States and Australia/New Zealand via Nadi have the most comprehensive inflight entertainment and connectivity experience in the region.

The airline’s consistent recognition for Best Seat Comfort is attributed to its young and modern fleet. The flagship Airbus A350s, servicing medium and long-haul flights, are equipped with Collins Aerospace Super Diamond full lie-flat seats, complemented by luxurious bedding and amenities, especially favoured by long-haul Business Class guests.
