Listen to COMO Laucala Island says Hello World!

The Laucala Island Resort Fiji is one of the well-recognised ‘celebrity resorts’ in the world and now, it has rebranded itself as the COMO Laucala Island. Just great timing as the world gets up to speed on travel and tourism, we say.

The COMO Laucala Island, is set on the Mamanuca chain of islands in Fiji. This is a textbook luxury resort… and then again, nothing about it is remotely commonplace. Compared to exclusive holiday retreats like Hermitage Monaco and David Copperfield’s Musha Cay in the Bahamas, COMO Laucala Island often sets the benchmark for luxurious holidays.

The island, which was first owned by the Forbes family, was bought by Dietrich Mateschitz, the co-owner of Red Bull energy drink and now is a part of Christina Ong’s COMO Hotels and Resorts.

COMO Laucala Island offers unspoiled wilderness surrounded by turquoise-blue sea and white sandy beaches. At the heart of the island are tropical rainforests, volcanic mountains, blue lagoons, mangroves and coconut groves, fostering a unique habitat that is waiting to be explored. This is a resort where space is luxury. There are just 25 residences, each with their own COMO butler – spread out on private beaches, above lagoons, atop hills and mountains. With its private airstrip accessed by a 45-minute private air charter from the country’s Nadi International Airport, this exclusive sanctuary will provide unparalleled levels of luxury living in 25 standalone residences located on the northern shore of the island.

Ranging in size between 3000 to 4000 sqm, all residences feature private pools. The construction has been carefully considered using local materials where possible.

Every imaginable activity is part of the COMO Laucala Island experience. A first for COMO, the island features a tropical 18-hole David McLay Kidd designed golf-course, a wide range of land and water activities, a fleet of jet-skis, sailing and game fishing boats as well as jet boats and diving boats. The resort also offers horse-riding, mountain biking, nature hikes and tennis. Now that one of South Pacific (and one of the world’s) most luxurious resorts is a part of the COMO collection, join us in waiting for more details, improvements and embellishments that are sure to happen.
