Listen to Nanuku Resort Fiji: Top-shelf luxury meets natural beauty

When picking out a spot for a full-on luxury holiday in Fiji for the family, the Nanuku Resort Fiji is an understated gem of a luxury resort. A boutique resort, it has limited inventory of just 35 super posh villas and bungalows spread over 500 acres of beachfront, forests and hillscapes. For family holidays, intimate honeymoons and romantic getaways or even a private wedding, the Nanuku Resort Fiji pulls out all stops for an unforgettable experience.

What is Nanuku Fiji?

It was earlier called the Nanuku Auberge Fiji, a part of the Auberge Resorts Collection. Now, with Fiji reopening, the resort has rebranded itself as simply Nanuku Resort Fiji. This 5-star resort caters to families, wellness and experiential travellers, couples and private group getaways. It is very easy to book out the entire resort and enjoy a private slice of paradise for you and yours. For a hefty fee, of course.

Where is Nanuku Fiji and how do we get there?

Set on the Pacific Harbour side of the Fijian mainland, the Nanuku can be reached by road and air. From Nadi’s international airport, the resort is a very leisurely 143-km cab ride away. Travellers can also land at Suva’s Nausori International Airport and shave an hour off the travel time. But if you really want to zip to Nanuku, there’s nothing like a chopper ride. The resort has a convenient landing strip for airplanes and a helicopter landing zone which gets travellers from airport to check-in in under a scant 20 minutes.

Nanuku Fiji: Accommodation Options

Now that the reaching part is taken care of, let’s delve into one of the best parts of staying at Nanuku Resort, Fiji – the stay! The resort offers a startling range of accommodation options, considering its limited inventory. From the ‘basic’, shall we? The Nanuku Suites are a two-storey freestanding duplex apartment, featuring high-vaulted thatched roofing over a Roman-style colonnade, ocean and garden views, a private pool and sun-loungers. Inside, the suite gets a king-size bed, living space, a luxe bathroom with a separate bath and shower, along with all modern conveniences. Upping the scale are the Beachfront Pool Suites, which add on a separate living room and a private plunge pool. Then, there are the even more spacious Beachfront Spa Suites – they add on a super-relaxing, metre-deep spa pool and a four-poster bed; and the finally the Two Bedroom Beachfront Pool Suites, which combine the two storeys of the Pool Suites for a family.

Then, we have the villas. They are free-standing affairs, with more privacy and space, of course. The One Bedroom Garden Villas come with a king-size bed, a large ensuite with a freestanding bath, twin vanities, a separate living room (some even have a kitchenette for those who want to try their hand at experimenting with new cuisines!), an extended mini bar, and comfortable island-style furniture. Outside, the villa has a private walled garden with a swimming pool, day-beds, and an outdoor shower. Of course, they are also steps away from the resort’s beach! For families, there’s the Two Bedroom Garden Villa. For travellers who want absolute feet-away-from-the-beach positioning, the Nanuku Fiji offers the One Bedroom Beachfront Villas and the Two Bedroom Beachfront Villas.

Fresh Twist on Fine Dining

When it comes to dining options; sure, the resort has a few. And by a few, we mean a dizzying lot. The resort’s in-house fine dining restaurant Kanavata sources its produce, fish and meats from local fishermen, farmers, and its own kitchen gardens. Plus, the seafood caught just off the Beqa lagoon is lip-smacking-ly scrumptious. Enjoy Pacific Rim and the best of international cuisines in an elegant and romantic setting. Speaking of romantic, candle-lit dinners can also be held on a tree-top setting. Yes, the resort has constructed a viewing platform on one of its huge Dilo trees – enjoy cool breezes, sounds of the ocean and a candle-lit dinner served up by the resort’s expert staff. What an evening to look forward to!

Then, the resort’s pool also boasts of a poolside bar. Travellers can also look forward to outdoor movie nights with a private chef catering to all gastronomic needs. Plus, if the scenic dinner setting needs to be ramped up, the resort will wow you with its cliffside dinner location and an absolutely private beachside dining setting. And if you’re just feeling like maxing out the pampering, just ask the concierge and they’ll arrange a chef to come to your villa and cook up a storm for you. Easy peasy!
