What’s the Care Fiji Commitment?

To help travellers travel safe and worry-free, the Tourism Fiji has made their health and safety its top priority. Right from the moment travellers board a flight with Fiji Airways, land at the Nadi Airport and check into a beautiful beachfront resort, they can relax knowing that each step of their journey has been managed with their safety in mind. Via the Care Fiji Commitment (CFC) programme, all of Fiji tourism industry has adopted WHO-approved COVID-19 best practices. So, when you book with a Care Fiji Committed resort, tour, or transfer, you can relax knowing that we are ready to safely welcome you back. 

How can we be sure of the resorts’ CFC policy?

Simple! It’s right there on our resort page. Whenever you are browsing Fijian resorts, you will see two icons. One denotes that the resort is a Care Fiji Commitment partner, and the other logo showcases that the resort has double-vaccinated all (and we mean ALL!) its staff. Same goes for transfers and tour operators, and basically anybody who you will or might come in contact with.

Care Fiji Committed Partners, which include hotels, resorts, tours, and sightseeing providers, pledge the following:

• To have in place a COVID-19 Action Plan that outlines their commitment to implementing health and safety practices to minimise the risks associated with COVID-19 for the wellbeing of their staff and guests
• To train their staff to understand the risks associated with COVID-19 and how to implement the new procedures outlined in the member’s COVID-19 Action Plan.
• A Wellness Ambassador in place
• Maintaining contact tracing information and mandatory guest use of the Care Fiji app

The COVID- 19 Action Plan outlines how the stakeholder implements its new safety processes and procedures aligning with the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Transport and Tourism guidelines as a minimum standard. This includes the following principles:

• Maintain physical distancing of 1.5 metres
• Appropriate use of face covering
• Screening and management of persons with symptoms
• Always ensuring personal hygiene
• Enhanced surface sanitisation schedules

Is there anything travellers need to take care of?

• Ensure you meet COVID-19 testing and vaccination requirements before your trip and upon arrival
• Book with a Care Fiji Committed business for safety and peace of mind
• Make sure you have appropriate travel insurance
• Download and use the Care Fiji contact tracing app and QR check-in
• Maintain 2-metre physical distancing wherever and whenever possible
• Wear a mask in public spaces, wash hands and use hand sanitizer regularly
• Contact your resort’s Wellness Ambassador if you feel unwell at any point during during your stay
• Do not travel if you are unwell/ have COVID-19 symptoms
