Listen to Beachcomber Island Resort Gets a $10 Million Luxe Upgrade

Fiji’s iconic Beachcomber Island Resort is about to get a serious makeover! After its recent acquisition by Vision Hotels, led by the duo Mark and Brendon Deeley, this beloved island getaway is set for a multi-million dollar transformation. Known for their knack for transforming holiday havens (they’ve successfully managed 20 hotels over the past 15 years, including Vanuatu’s Iririki Island Resort & Spa), the Deeley brothers are on a mission to elevate Beachcomber into a premier Fiji holiday destination for international travellers.

A Four-Star Transformation, with a Touch of Fijian Charm

The ambitious project aims to transform Beachcomber into a dazzling 4-star resort, upgrading the guest experience while preserving the island’s easy-going Fijian charm. Think fully renovated rooms, upgraded common areas… and a whopping 40 new rooms, bringing the total capacity to 90 rooms!

“We’re excited to breathe new life into Beachcomber, a destination that holds such a special place in the hearts of many travellers,” said Mark Deeley. And breathe new life they will! The renovation process is already in full swing, with a brand-new kitchen and a refreshed 4-star menu (led by a newly-appointed head chef) set to debut by November 25, 2024. By March 31, 2025, around 38 rooms would be sporting their fresh new look, along with significant upgrades to the bar and restaurant. The remaining 12 rooms will join the party by June 30, 2025. And the grand finale? An additional 40 rooms will be constructed by March 31, 2026 – making Beachcomber bigger and better than ever!

Investing in Paradise: Local Jobs, Partnerships, and a Boost for Fiji Tourism

This isn’t just a facelift; it’s a full-on investment in paradise. The FJ$10 million project includes $4 million for current renovations and a whopping $6 million for those shiny new bures. But it’s not just about bricks and mortar. The project is set to create around 50 jobs during the renovation phase, and another 50 permanent positions once the resort is fully operational. And in true Fijian spirit, the Deeley brothers are working closely with the Mataqali and local landowners to ensure the project benefits the entire community.

With the resort already open for business and these exciting improvements on the horizon, Beachcomber Island is poised for a bright future. “We believe this project will not only elevate Beachcomber as a sought-after destination, but also contribute significantly to Fiji’s tourism industry,” adds Deeley. With its already stunning setting, soon-to-be upgraded amenities, and commitment to preserving Fijian charm, Beachcomber Island Resort is set to become an even more irresistible slice of paradise.
