The world has adjusted to the new normal of living with COVID waves and travel is steadily coming back to where we were. That said, Tourism Fiji and partner resorts are leaving no stone unturned to ensure safe travels and COVID-free adventures for one and all. Ahura Resorts, the owner-operators of both Malolo Island Resort and Likuliku Lagoon Resort, updated its rules and regulations regarding COVID and Fiji holidays.

Flying into a COVID-safe Fiji Holiday

Besides free and unimpeded travel for fully vaccinated international travellers (if you’re boosted, so much the better!), it’s mandatory to have travel insurance which covers COVID-related incidents and expenses like quarantine, flight and accommodation amendments/cancellation fees. The resort reiterates Tourism Fiji’s one requirement of a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) within 72 hours after travellers’ arrival in Fiji. The website where travellers can pre-book and pay for the RAT test is https://www.entrytestfiji.com/. If travellers reach either Malolo Island Resort or Likuliku Lagoon Resort after staying at another resort for more than a day, the same rule applies – a RAT test within 72 hours.

Additionally, Ahura Resorts has partnered with a private medical laboratory, VanMed Labs, who have deputed a qualified laboratory staff at the resorts to undertake testing of travellers conveniently and simply. VanMed is approved by the Fiji Government’s Ministry of Health as an authorised COVID testing agency. As a last point, travellers can still enjoy themselves a Fijian holiday even while under the initial 72-hour window of having a RAT test done under their COVID-safe protocols.

Other than above, normal good health and hygiene rules apply. Guests are encouraged to wash hands and use the sanitizers provided in-room and in public areas regularly. The resorts continue the policy of wiping down high touch-point areas with disinfectant and the staff will always have masks and gloves on. The staff arriving on the island after days off are temperature-screened and undertake a RAT. Additionally, all staff get periodic training in CARE FIJI COVID protocols and wash their hands on the hour.
