Likuliku Lagoon Resort-Eva Maria

Fiji- what a wonder on earth. It’s one of the most beautiful, untouched islands I’ve been too. The Fijians are so warm, genuine and all have such infectious laughs that make you smile just with the fond memory’s. To get to liku from mainland it’s much easier to get in a helicopter, which was super fun with amazing views! I must recommend! Even though I’m terrified of heights it was such a fun experience.

We booked a villa with a pool, which we didn’t use once as the main pool views were amazing and we preferred that space. The room was insect free the whole time (hallelujah) and had an amazing bathroom. The resort itself is very secluded, it’s an abundance of natural beauty. The staff are wonderful, very attentive, always laughing, you can clearly see they enjoy working there.
This is a place you come to relax, read, sunbathe, and eat. This resort is a foodies PARADISE, yes in capitals. I’ve never eaten as much amazing food in my life! Be prepared to gain weight, the portions are massive and the Fijians love to feed you! If they saw we loved a meal they’d often bring out another plate! Just like being at home. Honestly the food was incredible, I still dribble thinking of some of the meals. Woah. And the drinks, and milkshakes just wow. The best. Really.

On days where the weather wasn’t so great we were always entertained. One day we attended a cooking class where we got to make Kokoda, a Fijian raw fish coconut classic. It was AMAZING. We had a little Iguana friend join us who was super friendly and sat on my head most the time. Another day we visited the iguana sanctuary, the keeper was such a lovely gentleman. So funny! The waters around was rich in marine life, I saw a lion fish, baby sting rays, a shark, loads of beautiful tropical fish too. It was amazing. I was too frightened to snorkel around the bay as lion fish are dangerous and of course I saw a few sharks so I took a boat trip out instead, which was disappointing. The sea life is better on the bay of the resort.

We did however get bored after a while, we stayed ten days. The singing at lunch and dinner was nice at first, then it started to grate on us lol. There’s little entertainment and it’s a little bit toooooo relaxed. The spa was shocking, so run down! The massages were good though, manis were awful- make sure you have your shellac on before staying two weeks! Spa staff were the least friendly. It was like something out of a movie.

We took a trip to the private island for a day that’s part of liku, it was an unreal experience. They packed us a amazing lunchbox with all the goodies, it was surreal.

We left some things in our room when we checked out, we were heading to Momi bay (mainland). The hotel had them sent over to us even though we said it was fine, such a kind and thoughtful gesture. Really touching.

Overall, 5 stars for a stunning unforgettable experience, amazing welcoming staff, unbelievable food, the most amazing sunsets and memories that will stay with me always.
