About Apia
Apia is world-famous in the way that it has everything you have heard about Samoa. Lush forests, perfect beaches and clear aquamarine seas as far as the eye can spy. History
As with all metropolitan cities, Apia originally started off as a tiny village. The city grew around it during the times of German rule and in 1959, became the official capital of Samoa. During Samoa’s struggle for self-rule and independence, the city was the heart of the national movement. History buffs can check out the museums in Apia, take a walk around the city to appreciate the confluence of modernity and traditional influence in architecture, sample the street-food (it’s delicious!) and opt for the many tours, hikes and safaris to explore the island.
