After landing at Rarotonga’s international airport, travellers will have to take a 40-minute domestic hop to Aitutaki. Set in the Amuri village, the lodges are but a five-minute drive from Aitutaki airport.
There are 10 bungalows which are in absolute beachfront setting, while two are set a little further back in the gardens. The Beachfront Bungalows come with a choice of either a king bed or two single beds – suited for couples, experiential travellers and friends; while the Garden Suites are larger – with a king bed and a double bunk bed – just right for families with kids. For more detailed amenities, pictures, and booking options, check out the Rooms section above.
There’s the Breakfast Hut, and the Cove Bar – the latter always being a great place to wind down adventures with a cold stubby in the evenings.
And when it comes to activities, travellers can do as much as they want to… or as little. There’s superb swimming, snorkelling and kayaking off the beach. And for first-timers to Aitutaki, couples (and especially honeymooners), we cannot but recommend a lagoon cruise to truly appreciate how incredibly beautiful Aitutaki lagoon really is. Anglers, sign up for fishing charters and get ready to set new personal records and times in the lagoon’s placid deeps. And finally, scuba diving is one of the best ways to explore Aitutaki’s marine diversity and wealth. Don’t know how to dive? Image learning how to dive… in Aitutaki!
On land, guests at the resort can ask for a tour guide’s help and scale Aitutaki’s highest peak – the trail starts just across the road from the lodge. Visiting a village is always a great way to learn about how villages in such remote islands maintain and pass on generational knowledge, culture, rituals and lore. There are often island nights and BBQ nights where locals come together for a night of song and dance, along with barbequed local fresh fish, chicken, and vegetables – holidaymakers wouldn’t want to miss it, really.
