About Mala Island Resort

The island is often called as the ‘jewel of Tonga’ because of its stunning natural beauty and the Mala Island Resort offers travellers no-holds barred days of fun, activities and fine dining. Set on island’s beautiful 20 acres of privacy, the resort features traditional villas or ‘fales’ which are eco-friendly as well as keeping in line of Tonga’s cultural authenticity. Each fale is built with woven palm partitions, woven furniture and hardwood which has been sourced locally. Travellers can choose between standard and deluxe fales, the latter having direct beachfront access. All units are fan-cooled and come with mosquito netting, and ensuite bathrooms.
