About The Brando
The French Polynesia is one of the few reserves of pristine natural beauty and awe-inspiring marine diversity. And in the already-famous Society Islands, Tetiaroa occupies a special place of mention. Originally designated as the holiday retreat of the Pacific chiefs, it was Hollywood icon Marlon Brando who spied the island and fell in love with its turquoise waters and white-sand beaches. Named after the star as a fond homage, the Brando is a full-service luxury beach resort with a carbon footprint so low that they are in the running to become the first resort to get a LEEDS Platinum certification!
Built on one of the 20 ‘motus’ of the Tetiaroa atoll, the resort fulfils the twin roles of being a research station for marine biologists and a private luxury resort for discerning travellers. The 35 villas along the island’s Turtle Beach and Mermaid Bay reflect the Polynesian traditions, construction and lifestyle that Marlon Brando fell in love with.
