About Anchorage Resort

The resort also has a large heated outdoor pool as well as a separate kids’ pool. But there’s plenty to do in Taupo beyond lazing at the pool! A visit to Taupo is not complete without a trip out on the lake – take a cruise or kayak tour and visit the Maori rock carvings, or try your hand at trout fishing. Another must-see in Taupo is the spectacular Huka Falls. They are free to visit, but if you want to get up closer take a jet boat ride or river cruise to the base of the falls. We also recommend the walk along river to Spa Park, and a soak in the natural hot springs that run out into the river.

There are a large number of walking and cycling trails in Taupo township and the surrounding area, ranging from a stroll in the botanical gardens to mountain biking the Great Lake Cycle Trail. And if you are looking for something to get your adrenaline pumping, then Taupo is the place for you – jet boating, bungy jumping, sky diving, the list goes on!
