(FYI: Bully's Review only) Wow! Absolutely original. Amazing for location and view, great for the food and freshness, very nice wait staff...just don't get in a hurry! (After all, you are on the island!) Rumor has it that Bully Hayes kept coming back to Kosrea for the pizza here! Some of the best pizza anywhere in the Caroline Islands. Kosrae is definite the jewel of Micronesia and the Pacific Treelodge Resort is the best place on the island to stay. The rooms are comfortable, with split AC. The beds aren't exactly plush but I'm not taking off any points for it considering the location and the cleanliness of the room. The staff are exceptional! Maria was very good at getting back to me by email. She was on vacation during our stay and Annabelle handled everything beautifully. She arranged our entire itinerary for the week, making sure we saw as much as possible by arranging boats and guides. Salik (Saleek) is your man if you want to go on jungle adventures. He will share the islands mysteries with you in a fun and informative way at whatever pace you are comfortable in. His kindness and love for Kosrae is endless. By the end of the week, we were able to identify several plant species and their uses, visited beautiful jungles, waterfalls, and kayaked to the fruit bat island. We visited a village with a population of about 100 who share one generator and live under thatched roofs. We ate green tangerines, sashimi, Kosraean dishes, fresh bananas, fresh ravioli and pizza (Maria is Italian). Bring your dive gear, too. The corals are healthy and beautiful but I didn't see many fish and no sharks or turtles, which was startling. Maybe you'll have better luck. I believe more divers visiting will help the reef, it may slow down the fishing if the locals can see they can make more money off recreation v. allowing foreign countries to overfish their oceans. I did see many large anemones with massive anemone fish and one even had lays eggs. The setting of this resort is incredible and isn't duplicated unless you can stay with a local. Read Less...
