About Raiwasa Private Resort

About Raiwasa Private Resort, Fiji

The Raiwasa Private Resort in Fiji hugs the side of a flora covered cliff on the northwest side of Taveuni. It’s spacious, accommodating and remote in all the right ways. A stay here is an invitation to leave behind the grind and surrender to serenity. There’s culinary delights to be had, endless cookies to munch on and reefs to explore for days. Plus, thoughtful additions like hanging hammock chairs, beachside private bures and candlelight dinners by the ocean are sure to delight honeymooners.
To reach Raiwasa, guests will need to take a connecting flight from Nadi International Airport on Viti Levu to Matei Airport on the garden island of Taveuni. From the tarmac there, it’s under a five minute car ride to the resort.

Accommodations at the Resort

Accomodation at the Raiwasa Grand Villa is distributed across two bedrooms. The bedrooms are identical in style, interior and amenities, the only differentiating factor being that one offers unhindered views of the ocean while the other offers captivating sights of the garden and the tropical foliage.

Both the bedrooms are in the Raiwasa Villa and are not standalone units. For more information, please check out the ‘Rooms at the Raiwasa Resort’ section above.

Things to do at the Resort & Taveuni

Guests at the Raiwasa will find comfortable seating arrangements wherever they go — from al fresco dining arrangements to spacious sofas overlooking the ocean and plush chairs in quiet corners. And so, it should come as no surprise that the most preferred thing to do at this Taveuni resort is unwinding.  Then, there’s the infinity lap pool in which to stretch and work on sore muscles or just gently glide. Plus, the bespoke spa service is great for getting rid of jet lag and can be enjoyed anywhere in the villa.

Dining is another activity to look forward to when holidaying in this luxurious Taveuni resort. From breakfast to lunch, it’s all about fine dining and gourmet meals. There’s no fixed menu here, just two private chefs who whip up culinary delights, Fijian and fusion international, in the villa’s full kitchen – as per guest wishes. Plus, guests get to learn insider tips and best practices in their complimentary cooking sessions with the chefs. Once ready, food can be served in any of the eight dining areas spread across the villa — deck, the balcony, beach side bure and more.

Post breakfast, it’s usually all about beachside fun. Couples honeymooning here or on a regular Fiji holiday enjoy paddleboarding in the calm clear waters. Rafting is another popular activity, as is kite surfing. The waters here are home to some amazing soft coral colonies and snorkelling is the preferred method of exploring them. The water stays cool and visibility is excellent. Divers enjoy easy access to acclaimed sites like the Rainbow Reef, The Grotto, Fish Factory and more.

Things to do at the Raiwasa just don’t revolve around water activities. Holidaymakers often enjoy a day indoors, filling the day with reading, music, and casual board games in the spacious living area. Spotting shooting stars late into the night is another exciting yet laid back activity.

There’s also something here for culture seekers. Guests get to enjoy a traditional lovo feast within the resort. Beyond an indigenous cooking technique, the underground oven feast also an interesting and unique food experience. Another cultural highlight is the Kava ceremony that takes place. Like lovo, a kava ceremony is all about good music, company, learning about fun kava drinking tips and rules, cultural fun. This experience can be arranged at the villa too but it’s always a better idea to experience it in its natural setting — traditional Fijian villages.
