The hotel has an on-site restaurant and bar, Rokete, which excels at local, island and international cuisines as well as whipping up cocktails and chilled stubbies for winding down a fun day.
Of course, the Mercure Nadi has plenty of activities and experiences in and around the premises to keep families busy for days on end. When not chilling in the pool or brushing up the golf game at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club, the marina is close enough to go for daytrips to other islands (do you know about the world’s first private island beach club – Malamala?), fishing charters, glass-bottom boat tours, kayaking, sailing and so on. There are also tour operators in Nadi who can help travellers book adventure sports like jet-skiing, scuba-diving charters, dive liveaboards, parasailing, shark-dives and more. Plus, there are village visits, kava bars, island tours, 4×4 jungle drives and … there’s a lot, basically. For first timers, we’d absolutely recommend a traditional kava-drinking ceremony in a Fijian village. What’s kava? It’s a herb which has been South Pacific’s answer to beer for centuries. Read our blog on it ‘Kava: Is South Pacific’s Root Beer the next alt-bev?’
