Taveuni Island Resort & Spa

We had a wonderful 4 nights at this resort, which looks like it was out of a postcard. Pictures don't do the resort justice; it is just stunning. This may be one of the most difficult reviews I had to write. First of all, we really enjoyed staying there. Employees and management were amazing. They really made our stay very enjoyable. However, I think I owe it to other travelers to leave a truly unbiased review. The property overall is in a dire need of update. Our bungalow was very spacious with great views, but at the same time very outdated. It may have been luxorious in the 70's or 80's, but in 2019 it felt like a very expensive mistake. We never really had consistent hot water, out unit didn't have internet access (there are no TVs, but we didn't need it), water was leaking trough the roof, there was dust, rust and dirt all over the place, faucet were leaking, drains were clogged, fabric was torn, etc. Some other units had slightly updated interior, but most guests were unhappy with their accomodations. I'm a minimalist person, and we had a great time in Fiji as we decided to spend majority of time outside, but at the end of the day it was difficult coming back to your room that just didn't live up to the price point. The landscaping was amazing, food was mediocre, and once again the service was great. Lesson learned, it's looks a lot nicer in the pictures than when you get there.
