White Grass Ocean Resort

Set on one of the southern-most islands of Vanuatu, the White Grass Ocean Resort & Spa is a four-star boutique resort designed for experiential travellers, couples and adventurers.

After landing at Vanuatu’s Bauerfield International Airport in Port Vila, travellers have to take a short domestic hop to the island of Tanna. From here, the resort is just a two-kilometre cab ride away. Guests can choose from Family Bures, Double Bures, Triple Bures and 2-Bedroom Family Villas. The White Grass Ocean Resort’s restaurant and bar is set on a rugged hill with fantastic views of the ocean. The menu changes daily and features the best of the island’s fresh produce, seafood and world-famous Santo beef. The bar is well-stocked with New Zealand, French and Australian wines, along with Vanuatu’s famous Tusker beer. Hot Tip: Keep an eye out for views of playful dolphins and whales while sipping on a cold beer on the restaurant’s outside deck!

When it comes to experiences, the White Grass Ocean Resort has gone the extra mile. There is excellent swimming and snorkelling off the beach in the crystal-clear waters surrounding Tanna. One of the very few active volcanoes in the world that are safe enough to visit, Mount Yasur is an awe-inspiring spectacle in itself. Covered in ash-resistant anoraks, travellers have to trek up a short distance after an exciting 4×4 offroad ride. The evening trek up the mountain is especially sought-after, as the glowing heart of the volcano stands out against the dark of the night. Basically, it’s nothing less than a magical experience.
