In 1953, Hollywood location scouts chanced upon the most perfect beach and shot the acclaimed movie ‘Return to Paradise’ – starring the inimitable Gary Cooper and lovely Roberta Haynes. The village elders divided the ownership of the beach amongst the villages to maintain its sanctity. Scores of years later, they built a resort together and named it after the movie.
Return to Paradise Resort & Spa offers 60 spacious, luxuriously-appointed rooms, suites and villas. all of their accommodations are set either on the beach or steps away from it. Budget travellers will find the Ocean Breeze Rooms quite to their liking – it comes with comfortable beds, ensuite bathrooms and are set in the resort’s gardens just a short walk from the beach. Then, the Beachfront Rooms open directly to the white sand beach as do the Beachfront Suites. Families and small groups can go for the two- and three-bedroom Beachfront Villas, which come with a kitchenette and a dining room along with the usual amenities. All accommodations feature air-conditioning, marble tiles and granite surfaces, ensuite bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes, lounge furniture, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities.
Outside of the rooms, there is plenty to see, do, eat and experience. Snorkelling and swimming off the beach is pure fun – the waters are clear as gin.
