All cottages all feature ceiling fans, ensuite bathrooms and private decks with stupendous views of Niuean sunsets. All accommodation also come with a kitchenette and hooded BBQ for cook-ups. The WiFi is complimentary, but it shouldn’t be a surprise because the entire island country has the same facility!
The Namukulu Cottages make for a great launch-pad for everything fun in a Niue holiday. Activities in and around Namukulu Cottages and Niue, by that extension, are a dime a dozen and as fresh as ever. The island’s limestone foundations make for few coral reefs, but superb underwater visibility. It’s recommended to get your own gear along, but there are rentals for scuba-diving, surfing, fins and snorkels and so on. With just a little searching, adventurers can find tour operators who can set up fantastic guided snorkelling tours, diving expeditions, whale watching, drift dives and so on. Whale watching, yes – most travellers come to Niue to get up, (moderately) close and personal with the gentle leviathans of the deeps, and we’re fans, too! Oh, and game-fishing. It’s simply huge in here. Anglers will find the biggest of their catches with underwhelming effort, but that’s just Niue.
On land, it’s a breeze getting a hire-car and moseying about the island, but we’d recommend signing up for a proper guided island tour. And of course, caving is a big activity in Niue. It many not be everyone’s speed, with claustrophobia a legit safety issue, but for everyone else – it’s worth a day’s mild exertion.
