Yasawa Islands, Fiji
Yasawa Island Resort
A five-star island getaway, the Yasawa Island Resort is one of the most iconic holiday experiences international travellers can ask for in a Fiji holiday! The resort is located in a chain of islands named after the island itself. As a factoid, these islands were not accessible to international until the last 50 years, because the Fijian government wanted to protect and conserve the traditional village communities living in these islands. So, the Yasawa chain is very much pristine in its beauty and culture. In fact, the Yasawa Island Resort is the only commercial development around these islands. This practically guarantees privacy, seclusion, exclusivity and the islands’ raw, no-filters-needed beauty. From Nadi’s international airport, the resort’s charter plane flies travellers to the island under 25 minutes. During the short hop, the plane provides a teaser of the holiday to come with scintillating views of the Fijian coastline, forested peaks and the powdery-white beaches lining the islands. Disconnecting from the mad, bad hustle is surprisingly easy in Fiji, really. Read More...+5 More

The Beachfront Honeymoon Bure at the Yasawa Island Resort is what completes a magical romantic escape in Fiji! Called the Lomalagi Bure (the closest synonym for this Fijian word is ‘heaven’, go figure!), it is secluded from all the other bures and enjoys its own private stretch of beach. The bure has a super kingsize bed, an ensuite bathroom and an open-plan living space overlooking the beautiful ocean sights. But outside, the honeymoon bure also includes a huge deck with a horizon pool, sun-loungers under a shaded gazebo and hammocks.

The 18 bures (what villas are called in Fiji) are spread out to provide guests with their own private beachfront and are designed with Fijian architectural influences to complement the island’s village traditions. Each open-plan bure has extra-large king-size beds, ubiquitously beautiful views from inside the villas as well as from the spacious sundecks, attached bathrooms and tropical showers.
With over 11 private beaches (a record by any measure!) and just 18 villas, finding stretches of deserted beauty is a daily event. Swimming and snorkelling are excellent even by Fijian standards, with crystal-clear waters and shoals of colourful fish flitting about busily.
A private picnic on a beach is organised at the drop of a hat – honeymooners and couples will rarely enjoy this level of friendly hospitality. We recommend a visit to the Blue Lagoon Caves. Hidden below a volcanic outcrop, these stunningly beautiful caves are filled with clear, warm waters fed by underground tunnels to the sea. Also, a scuba-diving charter is a must-experience when at the Yasawas – our South Pacific Specialists can arrange that in a jiffy.
The resort’s restaurant is manned by executive chefs and outdoes itself every night with fresh seafood, Fijian and international cuisines. The beachside views help, too. Then, the travellers have only to ask for private dinners by the beach, sunny picnics and the cheerful room service – the Fijian hospitality is infectiously warm.
Like the chain of islands, The Yasawa Island Resort is a gem in its own right – quietly peaceful and incredibly exclusive. Check out our all-inclusive holiday packages to Fiji now or call our South Pacific Specialists at 1300 991 751 to know more about organising honeymoons and weddings at the Yasawa Island Resort. While you’re at it, check out Fiji’s top snorkelling hotspots – our South Pacific Specialists went ahead and collected a few of their all-time favourites in a neat little blog. Also, do sign up and attend the resort’s signature kava ceremony? What’s kava? It’s a herbal alt-beverage which is South Pacific’s age-old answer to booze as we know it! Read all about kava the plant and the drink here!
