According to a legend which goes back 3,000 years, there lies a magical chest of blessings on Mana Island. Centuries ago, a ship carrying that chest was beset by storms near the island. The magical chest went overboard and Manamanaedina, the snake god of Mana commanded it to stay there. The legend could be one of the reasons why Mana is amongst the prettiest of islands in the Mamanucas. After landing in Fiji, travellers can reach the Mana Island Resort and Spa via scheduled boat transfers, sea taxis or by plane. Shaped like a boomerang, the forest-covered island boasts of miles of white sand beaches, coral reefs and marine life.
