The Garden Honeymoon Suite is the only accommodation option which is not beachfront. Rather, it is set up in a secluded spot, far from the other suites, surrounded by lush greens and with its own plunge pool. To offer maximum seclusion and privacy to guests, the resort has limited its inventory to just 16 villas. Designed especially keeping in mind couples and honeymooners, 13 of the villas are set along the beach and the landscaped gardens, while one is set up in the hills with views of the island and the ocean.
Besides the ‘usual’ Fijian norm of excellent swimming, snorkelling and kayaking around the island, there are loads of activities which make Beqa special. The island is the spiritual home of the Fijian fire-walkers and there is a weekly show dedicated to this daredevil tradition. Then, there are tours of the nearby villages, mountain treks and guided tours of some of the world’s best coral reefs. Try a hike to the beautiful Nawaisomo waterfall and a private island picnic, amongst a host of unique activities and experiences. Along with the above, do sign up for a traditional Fijian kava ceremony. What’s kava? Only the South Pacific’s answer to beer. It’s a centuries-old tradition/recipe that uses the roots of a pepper plant to make a mild drink. Then there are drinking traditions and rituals, we must respect them.
