Packages
Atiu (Enua Manu) is a fascinating island riddled with caves
and surrounded by makatea (raised coral) cliffs and white sand cove beaches
which are very private. In the centre is a flat volcanic plateau where 5
villages are situated within easy access to each other. The Atiuans language is
a mixture of Cook Island & Tahitian.
The Anatakitaki cave is the nesting place for the Kopeka birds
(swifts) seen only at dusk. The other bird to look for is the Moo, the family
member of the New Zealand Notornis. Visits to the caves require guides who have
ancestral ties to the various caves.They may also suggest a trip to the Tumunu
where bush beer is served and tall tales are told.
A visit to the local coffee plantation is well worth while,
then to the Fibre Arts Studio where local ladies are hard at work designing
vibrant coloured Tivaevae's (quilts) , wall hangings and much more. Also coffee
sampling and homemade cakes are available at their café.
Atiu's activities do not stop on a Sunday and the island is
worth a 3 day plus stay.

Small traditional style cabins set on top
of the Makatea or upraised reef area. The cabins are small and contain
your bed, chairs and a small area for your toilet and shower etc. The new
Spacious units are larger and more comfortable. There is a good swimming
cove just alongside the property and there are excellent tours offered by
the property using a guide from the village in which the property is
located. The property also has its own power plant that ensures 24 hour
power and has scooters on site. This is really a unique property to
experience the island from. Owner manager speaks Swedish and German
language.
