The
Solomon Islands:

often described as "the Last Frontier of the Pacific
Marovo Lagoon:
Reputedly the longest lagoon in the
southern hemisphere (if not the world); nominated for World Heritage listing;
described by James A Michener as "the eighth wonder of the world".
Uepi Island:
A barrier reef island, covered in
rainforest, defined by fringing reef and sandy beach; flanked by the warm waters
of the lagoon on one side, and the oceanic depths (6000ft/2000m) of "The
Slot", a deep marine abyss, on the other.
Uepi Island Resort:
A relaxed and intimate resort, providing
the chance to experience the natural wonder and culture of this authentic and
exciting part of the Pacific.
Uepi Island Resort is situated at on end of a 3km long island with the remaining island
jungle clad, undeveloped, but accessible by walking tracks. On one side, the gentle waters
of the lagoon lap on sandy shores offering guests safe casual swimming within minutes of
vibrant, action packed snorkelling and dive sites on the opposite shore, where the coral
drops off into 1000 fathoms of tropical water.
Six well separated timber bungalows nestled in the coconut palms, combine with two guest
house rooms and a lodge to provide the accommodation. The resort offers a relaxed informal
atmosphere - a total escape from the outside world. There is a range of activities
including scuba diving, snorkelling, cultural visits to local villages and bushwalking. A
fully equipped dive store and resident qualified instructor are on hand for some of the
most spectacular diving in the Solomons.
