Samoa is made up of ten
picturesque islands, of which Upolu is the most
populated. Upolu is where the capital
Apia is located and the international
airport, Faleolo and much more.
Lalomanu Beach on the southeastern tip of Upolu is
one of Samoa’s most pristine beaches – it has “come and
unwind in paradise” written all over it. In the village of
Vailima, you’ll find the beautifully restored colonial
homestead of Robert Louis Stevenson and his family
lived in for the five years prior to his death. Savaii
is third largest Polynesian island after Tahiti and New
Zealand - it is one of few places
on earth where you can truly experience the simple pleasures
of life.
In Samoa you will find uncrowded diving, Fish,
fish and more fish. A few turtles, the odd shark, a couple
of eels and lots of coral. Both Upolu and Savai'i have
fabulous dive spots, sporting around 900 fish species,
including spinner dolphins, stingrays and whales.
Scuba diving offers
the opportunity to explore the often unspoilt dive locations
off Upolu and Savai'i. There are several resorts in
Samoa that offer great surfing options. Samoa is just
be one of surfing’s last great undiscovered paradises.
Honeymooners will find a number of romantic resorts
where you can treat yourself to a honeymoon suite on the
beach and lie on the deck and
watch the day go by while sipping on a tropical cocktail.
And if you prefer the night life, the take a suite at one of
the hotels in Apia and pamper yourselves with a spa or
massage. Take a sunset cruise on a boat and enjoy the
refreshing sea air or simply lie on the beach and be waited
upon by the friendly resort staff. For the more adventurous,
hire a car and explore the islands and stay at a
small beach fale. Nothing
could be more romantic than a wedding in Samoa, and
to make the occasion memorable you can choose the perfect
setting for your day - an old church with a choir singing, a
tropical garden with fragrant scents filling the air, by the
fresh water pool at the base of a cascading waterfall or a
secluded beach on an uninhabited island at sunset?
