Other Conditions: A refundable deposit of SAT$500 is payable on collection of rental car and is refundable upon return of the vehicle pending refuelling charge and vehicle is returned in the same condition as received. The BOND can either be paid in Samoan Tala Cash or with credit card imprint, which must be signed. INSURANCE EXCESS: All drivers have to be 21 years and over. If the driver(s) are between the age of 21 – 25 years, the INSURANCE EXCESS is SAT$2500.00. Driver(s) from the age of 25 years and over, the EXCESS is SAT$2000.00 only. Please note that the Insurance Excess is to be paid if the vehicle is involved in any kind of an accident. For the Insurance Excess, you will be asked to leave an imprint of yourCredit Card which will be left open and which must be signed. There are two insurance options available to reduce the EXCESS and this can be purchased when collecting vehicle: Pay SAT$20 extra per day to reduce the EXCESS to SAT$990.00 Pay SAT$30 extra per day to reduce the EXCESS to SAT$400.00 For drivers between the age of 21 – 25 years, an extra excess of SAT$500 applies on top of the above mentioned amounts. PETROL: All rental cars are delivered with a full tank, unless otherwise stated on the Rental Agreement and must be returned by with a full tank or otherwise stated. DRIVER LICENSE: All VALID international or overseas licences have to be endorsed at the office of the “Ministry of Transport” (short M.O.T.) in Apia PRIOR taking the Vehicle. The endorsement is currently at SAT$12.00 per licence and payable directly to the M.O.T. BABY SEAT HIRE: There are 3 different size (almost brand new) Car Seats (age from 3month – 5 year olds) at a cost of SAT$10 per day which ispaid directly to rental company. Recommend to book a car seat ahead as there are limited seats available. Prices are valid if booking an accommodation package (an additional fee of AU$30 applies if booking car only). All rental cars can be taken on the Ferry to Savaii Island. However it is important to note that the smaller rental cars (i.e. Getz hatchback & Sedans) are NOT 4WD’S. Small Car (i.e. Getz hatchback) AU$80 per car return Medium Car (i.e. Elantra, Tucson and Santa Fe Jeep) AU$100 per car return Driver included in rate for car. Additional adults SAT$9 per person one way (children under 12 years SAT$9 one way). Additional person tickets cannot be pre-purchased and must be purchased at the wharf on the day of travel. Prices are subject to change without notice. Savaii Ferry There are two boats travelling to & from Savaii everyday (including Sunday). The "LADY SAMOA 2" is the bigger and faster boat. Total travel time is 1 hour and 15 minutes. to Savaii: Mon - Sat 8am, 12 noon, 4 pm Sun 12 noon, 4pm from Savaii: Mon - Sat 6am, 10 am, 2 pm Sun 10 am, 2 pm Schedule subject to change on short notice - you must reconfirm on arrival in Samoa.
